ID-Cooling hasn't been around very long, but you wouldn't know it by looking at its coolers. In the SE series, there are twelve coolers that cover a range of usage scenarios, from the low-end to the high-end. The SE-204K comes in toward the high-end (just a tick below the dual tower SE-205) and has a high quality dark nickel finish, which is joined by a red and black fan to make an attractive cooler.

One thing to watch out for with air coolers, besides overall height, is memory clearance, and the SE-204K has a nice offset to allow for memory access while offering the option to use two fans. The included 120mm 4-pin PWM fan has red rubber isolators at each corner to keep vibrations to a minimum, and if you like the red and black combo, it looks even better if you add a second fan.

Performance was on par with similar sized (and price) coolers. The SE-204K is a nice jump beyond OEM cooling, but still a sizable notch below the larger dual tower coolers with 140mm fans, and that is no surprise. For daily use in a mild gaming rig, this cooler will be right at home. If you really overclock and frequently load your system, you may want to look at a larger capacity cooler.

The installation went well, the performance was decent, and the SE-204K looks good from any angle, so if you are looking for a mid-range cooler, then this is one to put on your list.
